• Why I created this

At the beginning of my sophomore year at Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon, I enrolled in an entrepreneurship class taught by Henry Hooper. While taking the class, I realized just how many of my peers have incredibly strong business ideas but lack the necessary funding to test those ideas and launch their own companies.

I created the Oregon Youth Venture Fund and the Youth Entrepreneurship Award to inspire other young entrepreneurs in Oregon, and to provide them with the capital they need to grow their business and test new ideas, along with access to established business leaders across the United States.

With our support, more youth entrepreneurs will be empowered to grow their business, helping to stimulate Oregon’s economy and turn their own dreams into reality. Together, we will power the next generation of Oregon business leaders.

  • Goal

The Oregon Youth Venture Fund will promote youth entrepreneurship and inspire young entrepreneurs, investing capital to help them develop their business and test new ideas. The Fund also aims to create a network of support, offering guidance and mentorship from established business leaders helping provide a path to success.

Entrepreneurship is the engine that drives the creation of new businesses and the generation of wealth and new jobs. It is important to recruit and support the next generation of entrepreneurs and give them the opportunity to develop and test new business ideas.

Winning applicants will be awarded $2,000 each to be reinvested into their company. In addition, each winning applicant will receive advice and support from a member of the Oregon Youth Venture Fund. Winning applicants of the Sustainability Entrepreneurship Award will also receive advice and support from a member of the Oregon Youth Venture Fund along with a $4,000 reward.
